Aunt Doris' Bouquet
Aunt Doris' Bouquet by Ericka Leigh
The tapestry is inspired by a painting my great Aunt Doris made in 1959. I never met her but I was lucky enough to receive a few trinkets from her life and travels and estate upon her passing several years ago. The painting hung at my parents house until my mom passed it down to me. I’ve always liked the assortment of flowers in the vase. I heard from my mom and other aunt that Doris lived her life as she pleased and I loved learning of her adventures. In honor of Aunt Doris and the many strong, independent women who help lead the way for others.
Tapestry made from denim scraps, cotton, ribbon, and buttons.
